  • 2018 Soto y Manrique “La Mira” Garnacha

his is super aromatic and expressive, with great finesse, notes of yellow flowers and tangerine peel, really showy. This is the gentler of the slate wines: it has a finer texture, smoother tannins and really focused, clean and precise flavors, with great length. It’s a really complete and harmonious wine. This is delicious.

  • 2018 Soto y Manrique “La Vina de Ayer” Garnacha

Clear red color and delicate floral, red berry notes lead into a palate that balances the mineral richness of old vines with a beautifully light touch in the winery. Delicately structured, with subtle herbal notes to complement the fruit, and a mouth-watering finish.

  • 2008 R. Lopez de Heredia “Vina Bosconia” Reserva

“Bosconia faces south and has plenty of fruit sweetness, even in a very cool Atlantic vintage like 2008. Combining Tempranillo with 20% Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo, it’s a delightfully subtle, traditional Rioja Reserva that’s all about secondary and tertiary flavours and aromas rather than wood. Savoury, subtle and aromatic, with wild strawberry, tobacco and forest floor notes.” 96 points, Tim Atkin
